The project
The Earth Diet grew out of a long question: what would it take to eat, sleep, and move in a way that carries a body to 100, and what does the evidence actually support?
The answer became three things. First, Back to Earth: A Field Guide to Natural Healthy Aging, a seventeen-chapter illustrated guide that tags every claim by the strength of its evidence and ends with a twenty-week plan. Second, The Harvest Kitchen, one hundred recipes built entirely from the guide's Harvest 100 food list. Third, this site, which gathers both into a learning resource anyone can use, adds the case against sugar, ultra-processed food, and synthetic additives, traces the pattern back to the first-century table, and explains how to use labs, raw DNA, and AI to make a general diet personal.
Nothing here is for sale. There is no supplement, no program, no membership. The point is that the knowledge has never been gathered in one place in plain language, and that the tools to personalize it have only just arrived.
The compiler
The compiler of this site is a healthy aging enthusiast through diet, and a mountain climber. The site carries no name on purpose: the point is the evidence, not the messenger. Every claim is tagged by the strength of its support and traced to a source you can read yourself, so the work stands or falls on the sources, and the question behind all of it is simple: what does the evidence support, and what does it tell you to do tomorrow morning?
The method
- Evidence first. Claims are tagged RCT, COHORT, MECHANISM, or CONSENSUS so you can see what rests on trials in people and what rests on biology alone.
- Skeptical by default. Popular wellness claims (cleanses, detoxes, antioxidant potency scores, longevity supplements) are held to the same standard as everything else, and most do not survive it.
- Calibrated, not alarmed. Risks are stated as magnitudes with their uncertainty, not as warnings. A modest association is called modest.
- Pattern over ingredient. No superfoods. The evidence rewards the whole plate, kept for decades.
- Built with AI, checked by a human. The research synthesis, the food list, and the recipes were developed in long working sessions with an AI assistant, then read, questioned, and revised. The Know Your Body page is a description of that same process turned on one's own data.
Using and sharing
Read it, cook from it, print the stack, and send it to someone in their twenties. The recipes are templates; swap within color families freely. If you quote or republish, please credit The Earth Diet and link back.
